Does
StockOpter® let me add my own formulas, rows, or columns? Every time
I try this on a Case sheet I get a message saying "The cell or chart
you are trying to change in protected and therefore read-only."
Under Excel's "Insert" menu the "Cells," "Rows" and "Columns" choices
are grayed out and not available!
Yes,
you can add your own formulas, rows and columns by un-protecting
the StockOpter® workbook. You can modify or extend StockOpter® any
direction. Note, however, that by UN-protecting
the worksheet, you could unintentionally overwrite a native StockOpter®
formula and be unable to restore or re-create it.
To
un-protect a StockOpter® workbook in order to modify it:
- Click
Tools on Excel menu,
- Point
to Protection, and click UN-protect
Worksheet.

What
do I type as the vested number of options in column B? It says to
enter as of 12/31. Then what do I type in the vesting schedule as
a result of what I type in column B?
Ignore
the 12/31 reference in Column B and type in the amount of vested
options as of the day you are entering the case. Enter any remaining
shares for the year into the vesting schedule under column C. Ensure
the year at the top is the current year. The 12/31 reference will
be removed in the next version of StockOpter®.

Can
I rename the Case Sheet tabs?
No.
Formulas within the program reference tab names. Renaming the tab
can cause the formulas to provide incorrect results. To see different
case names on the charts and reports, change the name of the case
in cell A1 on the Case Sheet.

I
have a customer that has a large number of grants. Is there a way
to see more than one grant on a page?
The
SO Views menu option was created just for this reason. We suggest
you try each of the options to find the best view for you.

Can
I do more than one vesting schedule?
StockOpter®
is not designed to allow you to create two different vesting schedules
for the same option grant within the same workbook. You can save
the workbook using a different name and modify the new workbook
to reflect a different vesting schedule.

When
I use the StockOpter® icon on my desktop and try to open an existing
workbook, I keep getting a message that "Only one copy of StockOpter®
can be open at one time."
The
icon will only open a new workbook. This icon launches the StockOpter®
template that allows you to create a new StockOpter® workbook. To
open an existing StockOpter® workbook use normal Excel functions.

How
can I print my Case Sheet in a readable format?
Instead
of clicking on “File” then “Print”, try splitting your worksheet
into printable “pieces”.
- As
a suggestion, use your cursor to highlight your first option grant,
then click File, Page
Setup and select the “Page” tab.
- Select
Landscape under orientation, then “Fit to 1 page wide
by 1 page tall’ under scaling and click on “OK”.
- Then
click on File, Print
and under Print what click on Selection
then click “OK”.
- Repeat
steps above for each option grant. For the tax calculation section,
you’ll need to break this section into thirds by highlighting
and printing a third at a time.
