StockOpter® Insight, but I didn't get around to installing it for
a few days. When I put in the Installation Password that I was given,
I get the message the password has expired. How to I install it

Q20. My co-worker is a
fully licensed StockOpter® Insight user and so am I, but when we
swap files, his file always comes up as a "Wanderer" version
on my machine and I can't run reports or do any monitoring. How
come?
Q1. Can I install StockOpter® Insight
on more than one computer?
A. The StockOpter® Insight license agreement stipulates
it can only be installed on one computer. The client data in Insight
files can be shared by multiple Insight users via the Data Migration
utility available in the "Tools" page of the Insight console.
Q2. Can I install StockOpter® Insight on my network server?
A. StockOpter® Insight is designed to be installed
and run only from your local hard drive. Installation on a server
is not a supported configuration and StockOpter® Insight will not
run reliably -- and may not run at all -- in such a configuration
Q3. Several planners at
my firm do stock option analysis. Can we all share a single version
of StockOpter® Insight?
A. You can share a single version of StockOpter® Insight within the firm. However, you can only have the program
installed and used on one computer. The various users would have
to go to that computer and log-on as the user who originally installed
the Insight software for this kind of sharing.
Q4. Can I install the demo
on my computer more than one time?
A. You cannot install a demo over a demo. Once
you have installed the demo, you have 30 days to evaluate the software.
You may extend the demo for an additional 30 days by giving us a
call, before the original 30-day trial period ends.
Q5. I downloaded StockOpter® Insight but can't find the file. Can you help?
A. To find the file using the Windows Find utility:
1. Click Start on the Windows task bar (usually at the bottom of
your screen).
2. Point to Find and then click Files and Folders. The Find All
Files dialog box displays.
3. Type "Setup_Insight_150" in the Named drop down box.
4. Select C:\ in the Look In: drop down box.
5. Click Find Now. A list of files displays.
6. Double-click "Setup_Insight_150.exe" to launch the StockOpter® Insight installation utility.
Q6. Can I call in for technical
support?
A. You can call in and receive free technical
support on downloading or installation issues during the first 30
days after the date of purchase. Beyond this period, paid support
plans are available. For more information visit: http://www.networthstrategies.com/Insight/Support
Q7. What if I have questions on how to use the
program?
A. We offer free support in a numbers of ways:
e-mail support, a help file integrated
within the program, a presentation guide to help describe the Personal Option Profile report, a Users Guide and "white papers" on
various technical topics. We also have a fee-based support offering
available with unlimited telephone support and webinar education.
For more information visit: http://www.networthstrategies.com/Insight/Support.
Q8. Is there a Users Guide
for StockOpter® Insight? I've installed it on my system but
can't find any documentation.
A. The most current version of Users Guide for
StockOpter® Insight is always available on our Web site, at
http://www.networthstrategies.com/Insight/Support.
It is NOT installed on your system as part of the normal
installation process. You will also find a number of technical "white
papers" and other education materials there.
Q9. Do I need to enable
Macros when opening the program?
A. Yes, without Macros enabled you will not be
able to run the program.
Q10. How many clients am
I able to Profile and Monitor?
A. The initial program supports and maintains
data for a total of 10 active clients that you can profile and monitor.
You currently can purchase additional clients in increments of 10
up to a maximum of 450. Give us a call at (541) 383-3899 for details
on client upgrades or, within the program, click on the "Expand"
link on the "Intro" page.
Q11. How many Personal Option Profile© Reports can I run?
A. The Personal Option Profile Report
is a Word document template. You can run an unlimited number of
reports per client slot, which you can save outside of the program
Q12. Can I remove "Sally
Sample" from my client list?
A. Once you have created at least one other client,
you can delete "Sally Sample" (Insight requires
at least one client always be defined). You can also change the
Sally Sample data to match one of your real clients at any time.
Q13. What is Black-Scholes
Value?
A. Black Scholes Value is the most widely used
formula for determining the price of market traded stock options.
For White Papers on Black-Scholes and a variety of other topics,
visit the support area on our Web site at
http://www.networthstrategies.com/Insight/Support
Q14. How do I determine
what number to use for the volatility of the stock?
A. This information is available through a number
of analytic or research services tracking publicly traded stocks. For
example, a corporations 10K filings can be found at the SEC's web site
EDGAR which contain
the values used by the corporation to compute the Black-Scholes value
of options granted. We have also found www.ivolatility.com
to be particularly useful, in part due to the explanations and education
materials on the site relating to the overall concept of volatility.
Q15. What is the difference
between StockOpter® Pro and StockOpter® Insight?
A. StockOpter® Insight is an easy to use
tool that allows you to Analyze and Monitor the client's equity compensation
portfolio and helps them make a decision to take action and engage in planning.
Insight is particularly oriented towards assisting in the sales
process and in building and maintaining relationships with current
and potential clients. StockOpter® Pro is a comprehensive stock
option analysis tool that is generally used once the client has
made a decision to engage in planning and specific diversification
strategies need to be modeled, compared and evaluated. StockOpter® Pro
has particularly strong analytics with a far more detailed tax engine
than the StockOpter® Insight product.
Q16. Can I import the client
data I entered in StockOpter® Insight into StockOpter® Pro when
the client is ready for the full analysis?
A. StockOpter® Pro can directly
import data from StockOpter® Insight. Within StockOpter® Pro click
on the "SO Tools / More" menu and choose "Migrate
data from an Insight file."
Q17. My IT Support person
installed StockOpter® Insight on my computer, but I can't find any
icons or any way to access it. What's wrong?
A. As with many other desktop applications, StockOpter® Insight adds icons to the desktop and adds Program Groups
under the login name of the person who actually installed the program.
What most likely happened here, is that someone who was logged in
under a different user name and password installed it. If you would
ask them to uninstall the current installation, and re-install it
when they're logged in as you, you should see a new "StockOpter® Insight" icon on your desktop, and a new "StockOpter® Insight"
Program Group when you click "Start / Programs" on your
Windows desktop.
Q18. My co-worker has Insight
installed on her machine and it works fine. When I try to use it
on her PC, however, it says it's a "Wanderer" version
and I can't do the monitoring or reports? What's going on here?
A. StockOpter® Insight is licensed and installed
on a per-user basis. While the license does allow multiple people
to use the program on a single machine, they must log in onto that
machine as the licensed user. Once you've done that, you'll have
full access to all the features of the program.
Q19. I purchased and downloaded
StockOpter® Insight, but I didn't get around to installing it for
a few days. When I put in the Installation Password that I was given,
I get the message the password has expired. How to I install it
now?
A. The StockOpter® Insight installation password is designed
to expire on midnight the day after purchase of the software. If
you weren't able to install it within that time period, just give
us a call at (541) 383-3899 and we'll be glad to give you a fresh
installation password.
Q20. My co-worker is a
fully licensed StockOpter® Insight user and so am I, but when we
swap files, his file always comes up as a "Wanderer" version
on my machine and I can't run reports or do any monitoring. How
come?
A. StockOpter® Insight files are "mated"
to the machine they were originally created on and will fully function
in that environment. On other PCs, these files will open as "Wanderer"
versions and, although all the client data is available to you,
the reports and monitoring functions are disabled. To run reports
or do monitoring of client data from another StockOpter® Insight user, you'll have to migrate the client data into your own local
Master file. Within your copy of StockOpter® Insight, go to the "Tools"
tab and click the button "Import data from another Insight
file" and then just point to your co-worker's Insight file.
The list of clients in that file will then pop-up and you can choose
which ones you want to import into your own file. The reverse process
also works so he can import your data back into his StockOpter® Insight file at any time. Note, that at any time you are each limited to
the maximum number of authorized clients supported for your particular
copy of StockOpter® Insight.
