| Data Migration and Year End Grant Data Rollovers |
The earliest supported “Initial Year” is 2007 so StockOpter® Pro will do the following when migrating data from workbooks created by older versions of the program:
- When migrating Pro files with an Initial Year of 2006, Pro will give the user the choice between 1) making the rollover adjustment by using the “exercise and sale” values on the BaseCase to update the grant inventories or 2) canceling and doing the rollover from the utilities menu.
- When migrating Pro files with an Initial Year of 2005 or earlier, Pro will NOT migrate the data or offer to make any rollover adjustment. The user will be directed to open the source workbook and change the initial model year or use the rollover utility.
In either situation, users should always verify that the grant inventories are correct and to manually adjust them as necessary. For more information on migrating data and year end data rollovers refer to Appendices E and F in the user’s guide.

| Stock Appreciation Rights (SARs) |
Stock Appreciation
Rights (SARs) are currently not a supported grant type in this
version of StockOpter® Pro. Running the StockOpter® Pro strategy
wizard against a portfolio that includes SARs can lead to erroneous
results. SARs can be entered manually into StockOpter® Pro
as a Non Qualified Stock Option (NQSO) or they can be imported
from StockOpter® Insight version 2.0 or higher. StockOpter®
Insight versions 1.61 and below do not support a SAR grant type,
but SARs can be entered as NQSOs and identified in the grant
ID field. Version 2.0 and above of StockOpter® Insight supports
the SAR grant type. Both manually entered and imported SARs
are placed in a StockOpter® Pro NQSO grant block. SARs imported
from Insight versions 2.0 and above will be identified in RED
in the first row of the grant block. SARs imported into Pro
from Insight version 1.61 and below will NOT be specifically
marked as SARs. For more information see Appendix G in the user’s
guide. |
| Restricted Stock Awards (RSAs) |
The terminology for these types of grants has been changed throughout the program. Formerly RSAs were referred to as RSPs (Restricted Stock Plans) in the program. The new RSA label refers to all forms of restricted stock including Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Additionally, the RSA section redesign includes the following changes:
- The formula in row “Cum Total # of unrestricted shares” was modified to remove sold shares and the input removed from the BaseCase and the RSA input wizard. This row is for information purposes only (the value does not flow to other formulas).
- The formula in row “Cum # of unrestricted non-83(b) shares” was modified to remove sold shares. This row is for information purposes only (the value does not flow to other formulas).
