Demonstrates
the effects of diversification versus holding on to options
as long as possible. Calculates the difference between exercising
all the options as late as possible and selling to cover costs
of the transaction versus smooth diversification of the available
options through the life of the grant. The effects on total
portfolio value are displayed on a printable chart. |
| Price
Indexer |
Shows
how values in a portfolio would fare if the option holder's
stock were to behave like the stock of a selected company. Once
the option holder understands what future valuations might be,
you can run alternative strategies to identify an approach that
best addresses the option holder's long-term goals. |
| Exercise
and sell to cover strategies |
New
strategies that enable you to quickly model exercise and sale
of stock by selling it either as soon as possible or holding
it as long as possible. These strategies then sell enough shares
to cover tax costs incurred by the transaction. |
| Diversify
Strategy |
Quickly
create diversification strategies that model the effects of
selling a percentage of the shares at specified minimum market
price. |
| Transaction
override stock price |
The
new row Transaction override stock price: Model exercise and
sale of stock during the course of the year at a different price
than that in the row Estimated stock price (12/31). Facilitates
end-of-year planning by modeling cash flow and tax consequences
of stock sale at a price other than the estimated end-of-year
price. Calculates the combined effect of different sales prices
on income and cash flow in the year of exercise and sale, without
affecting overall values within a grant or the total portfolio
value. |
| New
tax charts from the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation
Act of 2001 |
All
tax calculations in StockOpter® 2.5 are based on the new tax
chart from the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation
Act of 2001. StockOpter® tax calculations automatically adjust
each year for the changes, such as tax rate levels and phase-out
levels, that will be phased in over the next 10 years, in each
year that the change is implemented. |
| Estimated
inflation rate for tax-related values |
Estimated
inflation rate for tax-related values: Enables you to specify
the rate at which any tax-related items (such as tax rate income
brackets or phase-out limits) will be indexed. This enables
you to simulate the effect of the Consumer Price Index. |
| Marginal
Tax Bracket |
The current Federal tax bracket. |
