Close to 1 million
U.S. households let in-the-money options expire
worthless during the past three years and another
million declined to accept option grants. How does this
happen? According to a survey conducted by a research
group for Fidelity Investments, 53% of the respondents
said it was because they didn't understand how to
exercise their options or found the plans too
complicated.
